i blast npr like some blast rap

so, i was driving over to aj's after work today listening to all things considered. i hadn't really noticed how loud i had it turned up until i pulled up next to another car at a red light. they were playing that horribly obnoxious remake of right round by...flo rida i think?

anyhow, both of the cars passengers were staring at me with extremely annoyed looks. i didn't really understand what i could've done to piss them off, until i realized that robert siegel's voice was loud...very, veeery loud. so loud in fact that it was overpowering flo rida. after a few seconds of awkward staring, they turned their music up, revved their engine and flew by me when the light turned green. maybe i should leave my windows rolled up when listening to npr. no, actually scratch that, they should roll up their windows when listening to that icky rap remake crap.

flo rida, you've won this round...but next time, ohhhh yes, next time...

in an entirely different matter, the sandwich and wine party was such a blast! thank you coralene for coming up with the wonderful idea and hosting it at your place (which, by the way looks SO adorable). coralene made these amazing little sandwiches with olives, which i was super excited about. my dear heart tried to make some caprese sandwiches, which were actually very good minus the licorice-tasting basil. but, oh my stars, chris and his effing panini press surprised the shit out of me. i have no words for his sandwiches. thank you beardo, i am a better person for having eaten one of your paninis.

That's a funny story! I can just see you blasting the NPR. On a much darker note, reading about Flo Rida reminded me how much my oldest daughter loves Soulja Boy, haha. Devastating.

And thank you so much for coming! I thought your sandwiches were amazing (licorice?)... I think I could pretty much just eat tomatoes plain. But I agree, the paninis were phenomenal. Pears!
